Background Information
CCA holds an annual meeting and convention, alternating between Northern and Southern California each year. Check out our events link to see current convention and meeting dates.
Among its many benefits, CCA provides each of its members a quarterly edition of The Minute Book, the official publication of CCA. This publication includes articles about courts, members, innovative programs, proposed and new legislation, as well as reports from individual association members.
The California Court Association (CCA) was formed in June 1952 with an initial membership of 135. Today, CCA's membership has grown to well over 6,000 individuals. Regular membership is open to all employees of California courts. Any person employed in California by a court-related govermental agency may apply for associate membership and any regular member who has retired from his or her position in a California court may continue membership as a retired member.
OUR MISSION
The California Court Association is dedicated to enhancing the quality of the California Justice system through the personal and professional development of Judicial support staff by providing education, training and support to its members.
MEMBER BENEFITS
The Minute Book - The Association’s quarterly magazine, full of useful information, including biennial Study Guide, court-related articles of interest and announcements of upcoming training days. Members are strongly encouraged to participate in the production of this publication by submitting articles and other items of interest.
Courts Directory, Procedures Manuals - Published regularly through the joint efforts of Association members who contribute their time and expertise. These publications are widely sold to the courts, members of the legal profession, law enforcement and other court-related organizations. The profits derived from these sales are used to support the educational functions and committee work of the Association.
Training Workshops and Annual Convention - Regular training workshops designed to provide education and training at very affordable cost are conducted annually at northern, central and southern locations in the state. These workshops are intended to provide members with valuable instruction on generic and court specific subjects which will enhance personal and professional growth. These events provide a valuable means for the exchange of ideas, discussion of new or pending legislation, and the cultivation and enjoyment of fellowship and networking with other Association members.
Legislative Advocacy - As an employee in the vast Judicial Branch of California, membership in this professional organization gives you the standing and influence to oppose undesirable legislation and to support (and even propose) desirable legislation pertaining to the courts. As a vital part of the judicial system, you are able to play an active role in the development and outcome of your future with the courts.
